In addition to the live classes (available, valuably, for later video review) , there was a wealth of videos hat Hope posted on relevant topics, daily private Facebook posts encouraging us or directing us to other resources. Hope was available one-on-one via Voxer and very responsive. And her level of engagement and concentration during the live classes, combined with her determination to push us to get our best creative work, was remarkable.”

“I was able to write and record a new song! And I’m proud to say that I was in charge of the whole process! Even with all the ups and downs, and the self doubt, I did push through the end to come up with a recording! I am proud that I was able to achieve this creative freedom. Part of me never thought it would happen, so I am proud of myself and so grateful for the class for giving me the tools I needed, the tough love to grow, and a stronger belief in myself necessary to make this happen."

I learned to embrace the terror of jumping into something I know NOTHING about. I was so scared of failing before I never gave myself a fair shot. The class gave me a net to fall into which was so helpful, and a method for what to do when I’m stuck. I know now that there is so much more out there that I don’t know, but it’s not scary anymore.

I am less likely to give up when I encounter challenges. I have a better set of problem solving skills to keep me learning and keep me motivated. I was too overwhelmed and lost with logic before to have the motivation to fight through frustrations. It was great to have the support of other musicians throughout this process of learning something so new. I am celebrating my progress when I see it and keeping myself accountable with where I need to practice and grow.

I now know what I can do, what I can learn, and what I can’t do. I have a direction to go in with my music, and a path to keep learning what I know I can have success in. I also know the areas that I will need support or to hire someone. Before my brain was a big mush in regards to the whole process of getting my songs from the grand to Spotify, and now I feel like I understand enough to put my music out there and to keep learning.  I have a single that will be released in the summer, and it’s thanks to the class and hope that I can say that. “I had not written a song in about 45 years. Now I’ve written 3, and have a folder full of lyrics waiting to be made into songs. I learned how to use Logic. I have learned a lot about the recording and mixing process. I have had the pleasure of collaborating on others’ projects, which requires exercise of very different 'muscles'.

I wish I could have done when I was young, something that has opened a new window of creativity in my life, something that has changed the way I listen to music, and has also introduced me to a group of new friends I’d have never made otherwise.”
